In the Department of Marine Biotechnology, students are trained to maximize the efficient use of marine resources to the goal of a comprehensive understanding of marine life and biological phenomena. This is done with the biochemical and molecular biological understanding of marine origin based on the discovery of new materials and new functional materials. Students gain invaluable field experience in one of the world's largest mudflats which is easily accessible from the campus. Experts in this field of study can find themselves working in fields such as fisheries, refineries, cosmetics, environmental firms, food companies, medicine, etc.
