The Department of English Linguistics and Literature seeks to provide students with extensive knowledge in English literature, American literature, writing, English linguistics, and folklore, with special emphasis on humanistic values. Our students will gain a thorough understanding of English-based Western culture and the dynamics of the globalized world. We further seek to equip our students with the ability for critical thinking, keen cultural analysis and cross-cultural communication, and the knowledge and confidence necessary to succeed in the 21st Century. In order to enhance English speaking ability of students, most of the courses proceed in English only.
